Our Work to Date

Working with Our Place, BC Housing, First+Met’s Seniors’ program and Saanich Public Library, CCWS has delivered the Choices program, primarily for individuals on a restricted income or living with disabilities.  We have created enjoyable afternoons and evenings, with healthy snacks, focusing on optimal choice and wellness in many aspects of daily life including  nutrition, entertainment, staying safe in the dark, wet night in the city, transportation, mobility and that perennial favourite – glamour on a budget.

With the Victoria Health Co-op, we have supported the Community Wellness Clinics through which members of the Co-op, many of whom are on low fixed incomes, have access once a month to a range of complementary and alternative wellness modalities for a no-questions-asked donation.

CCWS created and administers the Health Access Fund which enables low income individuals to receive on-going assistance in accessing treatments such as chiropractic and energy work that are not covered by the Medical Services Plan.
